Systems Engineer

Job Description: Transformatech has an opening for a Systems Engineer to augment our Virtualization, Cloud Computing, Virtualization practice.  The candidate will service a wide customer base working in small, medium, and enterprise networks in various verticals ranging from Healthcare to Education.

The Systems Engineer will be responsible for designing, configuring, testing, implementing, administering and troubleshooting virtualization and cloud solutions in all types of production environments.  In addition to the following technical responsibilities, the Systems Engineer is charged with self-managing their assigned projects, communicating the status of the project to the customers IT staff and management, vendors, and internal customers.  The Systems Engineer will also need to interact with and support the sales team, as well as interact with the other practice areas.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Work with team members to deploy VMware and Citrix based monitoring solutions to customers
• Install, configure, and leverage monitoring tools to monitor and manage customer environments
• Implement, configure, and document turnkey solutions
• Work and communicate with customer IT staff
• Peer-Review proposed project plans and scopes of work
• Provide technical support to end users
• Assist with project planning and architecture design
• Obtain and maintain current vendor certifications

Skills/Knowledge for this Systems Engineer:

• 3 years minimum hands on experience with the following technologies in an enterprise deployment:
• Installation, Configuration and Support of  various monitoring solutions for VMware and Citrix environments
• Microsoft Active Directory 2000 – 2008R2
• Microsoft Windows 2000 – 2008R2, XP, Vista, 7
• Administration and Implementation of VMware VI 3.5, vSphere 4.x, vSphere 5.x is a plus
• Adminstration and Implementation of Cirtix XenServer 5.x-6.x is a plus
• VVirtual Switchingis a plus
• Excellent oral and written communications skills, and interaction with end users, vendors, and technical staff is required
• Strong interpersonal skills; must be a team player as well as work well with others
• Must be a self starter and capable of being responsible for time and task management
